Amrik was preparing to take his A levels and go to university when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. The diagnosis left him feeling like he’d lost control of his life. But Amrik says he and his family were helped by the information they got from Macmillan. ‘Macmillan’s literature is invaluable. It isn’t just regurgitated information that you can get from any old place. It’s first-hand experiences from people who have been through it. It allows you to take control of your life a bit more because you know what to expect. You can be prepared for any eventuality.’
