On July 8, 2010, NRDC opened the Gulf Coast Resource Center in Buras, Louisiana, with the help of its local partner group, the Gulf Coast Fund. The center will serve as a gathering space where local community members, journalists and NRDC staff will share ideas and stories. The center aims to help residents affected by the BP oil disaster tell their stories and advocate for positive change.
