*Government is considering selling off some assets such as Telkom to raise money to fund South African Airways. The national airline has finally admitted it is in desperate need of capitalisation because it has lost millions of rand flying unprofitable routes. *Women have been encouraged to create their own small businesses, so they can assist in growing the economy not only for the North West but also the country as a whole. Former African Union chairperson, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, made these remarks when she addressed the Women's Summit in Mahikeng. * International Relations minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane has broken her silence on assault allegations against Zimbabwe's first lady Grace Mugabe.
