Three metro-area bridges will get new inspections following the fatal bridge collapse in Minneapolis last summer. A federal reported on the collapse identified a design flaw with the metal that connected the bridge's steel beams. One of the local bridges to be checked is the 18th Street Expressway Bridge, which has a design similar to the Minneapolis bridge. Inspectors will evaluate both of the Expressway's steel supports where it spans the Kansas River. KMBC's Martin Augustine reports.
