Tour Scotland wee video of old photographs of Tarland village in Aberdeenshire. The village is located five miles north west of Aboyne, and 30 miles west of Aberdeen. Melgum Lodge near Tarland was originally built as a hunting lodge for the physician to Queen Victoria who frequently stayed in the vicinity at Balmoral Castle. According to legend, a wizard once lived in the area. It was said that he once came to Tarland Fair and cut open a cheese, which produced a swarm of bees. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
