Vietnam PM and NKorea FM at wreath-laying ceremony

(1 Dec 2018) North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong Ho met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Saturday to strengthen political and economic cooperation between the two countries. Ri's four-day trip to Hanoi is reportedly to learn about Vietnam's economic reforms that can be applied for North Korea, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap. During the Inter-Korea summit in April, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pointed to Vietnam's development to be its role model as he discussed with South Korean leader Moon Jae-in. On Friday, Ri held talk with his Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh behind closed doors. Ri's plan in Vietnam includes a tour to Hoa Lac high tech park in the suburb of Hanoi and a port in Quang Ninh province, local newspaper Tuoi Tre reported. Ri also laid a wreath at the mausoleum of former Vietnamese president Ho Chi Minh. Vietnam and North Korea established diplomatic relations in 1950.
