Black and Gray are hard colors to create using food coloring. The colors tend to break into their separate components.  Americolor has a whole line of gray food coloring - 6 different shades!  What will happen if we try to dye some yarn with these nifty shades of gray?

VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction 
[1:55] Preparing the yarn (presoaking in plain tap water for at least 30 min)
[2:13] First look at the colors
[3:40] Setting up for the low immersion dyeing: 4 cups of water + 1 T white vinegar.  Laying the presoaked yarn and spreading out hte yarn a bit
[4:32] Adding the dyes for the first look (~ 2 drops of each of the six colors.) I lightly covered the steam pan with foil to help keep the heat and moisture in with the yarn
[7:18] Tapping the dye drops to see more about how the colors break
[11:01] 10 min later
[12:31] Adding more vinegar and food coloring to the yarn (2 additional tablespoons of white vinegar and about 4 more drops of each of the 6 grey food coloring colors.)
[15:12] 10 min later - spreading out the colors and adding an additional 4 cups of water and then one more Tablespoon of white vinegar.
[20:30] After another 10 min - turning off the heat and letting things cool
[22:21] Washing the yarn
[26:26] The finished dry yarn and conclusions
