Big Sur California July 22, 2016. Day one of the Soberanes Fire. The fire was only a few acres in size when air support was called in. The fire grew to over 100,000 acres and is still burning actively 7 weeks later. The Helicopter Transport Services contract Sikorsky S-64e Skycrane can hold over 2,500 gallons of water or retardant in its tanks.
