Ministry of Education launches ‘Kenya Climate Change Art and Essay Competition’

Primary and secondary school students across the country are expected to learn and give artistic ideas on climate change.The students will participate in a competition launched on Wednesday by the ministry of environment and education at Kilimani Primary. Students from Nairobi county participated during the launch of the competition which will later be rolled out to all schools nationally. The competition dubbed Kenya climate change art and essay completion will have participants within the age of 6 and 19 years. The competition which is expected to last for the whole month of August is expected to tap into artistic ideas from the students which will then be incorporated in the new curriculum. The ministry of environment and forestry together with the ministry of education are working hand in hand to make sure that more knowledge on climate change and learning materials are provided to the children.The program is geared towards empowering the younger generation for sustainable action plans towards climate change.
