Vernell Brown remembers the Orangeburg Massacre

Vernell Brown graduated from South Carolina State in 1971 and is president of the school's national alumni association. She was on campus on February 8, 1968 and watched from the roof of her dormitory as police fired on students who were protesting to desegregate an Orangeburg bowling alley.
