Validation Exercise Begins for Papua New Guinea's Candidacy in International EITI

The validation exercise for Papua New Guinea’s candidacy in the International Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative has begun. Over the past week, officials from the International EITI have been in the country, conducting interviews with representatives from within the extractive industry, as well as stakeholders of the PNG EITI Secretariat. A final report on the validation process is expected in the final quarter of this year.
