Double Chaconia To Become National Flower

The Government is getting closer to making the Double Chaconia the National Flower. This, according to Minister of Agriculture, Lands and Fisheries, Clarence Rambharat, while speaking at the Royal Botanic Gardens' 200th Anniversary celebration Thursday. In April of this year it was announced that the Single Chaconia will lose its title as Government is set to give recognition instead to the unique Double Chaconia. Government had directed the National Emblems Committee and the Attorney General to effect the change in the description of the National Flower to refer to the Double Chaconia. The Double Chaconia will eventually replace the Single Chaconia on official material, like the electronic Birth Certificate.
