Dr. Huda Zoghbi, director of the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas has been awarded the distinguished Gruber Neuroscience prize for her pioneering work in unlocking the genetic and molecular mysteries behind a number of devastating neurological disorders. These neurological diseases, more than 600 in total, affect more than 1 billion people worldwide with 300 million of those being children. Described by many as a transformative leader in the field, Dr. Huda Zoghbi is not only passionate about the work she is doing but is so committed to the research coming out of the Institute, she is giving the $500,000 personal cash award back to science and the community.
