“The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2018” report provides an updated estimate of the number of hungry people in the world and the latest data on child stunting and wasting, adult obesity, child overweight and other nutrition indicators. The report analyses the drivers of hunger and malnutrition, and this year focuses on how climate extremes and variability are threating to erode and reverse gains made in ending hunger and malnutrition. Result of a close collaboration of the 5 UN agencies, SOFI 2018 reveals new challenges on the road to Zero Hunger, while setting out urgent actions needed to achieve the goal by 2030.
