This amazing replica was meticulously patterned and detailed by master Hollywood modelers to match the original rifles used in the classic second Planet of the Apes film, BENEATH the PLANET of the APES. Painstaking amounts of time and attention were paid to even the smallest of details while re-creating this sci-fi cinema icon. There is no wood anywhere on this prop. The expert painters are fooling your eyes! The stock is a composite of carbon-fiber, fiberglass, and epoxy resins, expertly detailed and unlike the original cast-aluminum movie props, these epoxy replicas have been "trued-up" so that gunsmiths can accurately "bed" .30 cal M1 carbines into the stocks, a necessity for target and sport shooting. Check it out with the stiletto bayonet added: https://youtu.be/2N1bkFt1if4 https://youtu.be/Qayku2ZVU6g ...and at the firing range: https://youtu.be/v2V5c3iM5Qs Us "ape kids" always wanted a toy one of these when way back in the day, but Mattel was only rehashing old cowboy pistols, Winchesters, and Tommy Guns... http://apemania.com/TOYS/ToyMasks&guns.jpeg http://apemania.com/TOYS/WHAT_IT_WASx3.jpg Slapping a Planet of the Apes sticker on a six shooter doesn't make it a Planet of the Apes gun! Who did they think they were kidding? Not us kids! So we made our own!
