Derek took the sticks on my DeeZee and we were doing some altitude to distance testing. Goal was 300 feet per mile (out to 2 miles). We wanted to stay on the edge of the fresnel zone and only climb when needed. We ignored the alt reading and only used 2 things to guide us 1) RSSI and 2) video We could go much lower than this and much further out - this was just the 1st test. Once I upgrade the OSD we'll have accurate alt data, but alt data is irrelevant to this type of testing. My 1st flight to the same distance I was at 2100 feet - LOL. So needless to say I could have saved the battery used on climbing out and used it for more range. I'll be trying lower and further more often to increase range (distance) w/out adding battery - TRUE efficiency. No editing tricks - just raw testing video - not meant to be entertaining, meant to be informational (primarily for me I guess - LOL) so skip it if it's boring. This is also the 1st time I've had some1 on the sticks on my plane at distance. fpvlab.com
