Manchester United manager David Moyes says his side were the "better team", despite suffering their eighth Premier League defeat of the season against Stoke City.

But the United manager seemed unperturbed by his side's 2-1 loss, which was their fourth defeat of 2014 in all competitions.

Speaking at a press conference after the match he said: "I thought we were the better team."

"They got a goal, we got back in it, but we always had to deal with some free kicks.
"I thought at the end of the day we had done enough to certainly get something out of the game."

It was Stoke's first win over United since December 1984 and left them in 11th place in the table.
