As Papua New Guineans welcome the New Year, a small village in Asaro District in the Eastern Highlands will be looking to expand to double… maybe triple its kaukau production. Meteyufa villagers have ben farming kaukau for generations. But they’ve also found ways to make it their primary cash crop. Today, the village earns up to K15,000 a week. The initiative was driven by a local entrepreneur who exports the tubers to Port Moresby.
