My Dad and I live about 120 miles apart. He completed building his 100 watt amplifier for his Elecraft K2, so he is no longer limited to 10-15 watts. Most HF (High Frequency) radios are 100 watts, and it's really helpful to have 100 watts especially for SSB (Single Side Band) voice communications. If you are doing CW (morse code) you can get by much more easily with 5-10 watts because that mode of operation is more efficient. We were testing out the power difference here. You can see the difference on the signal strength meter (S-meter). When we started talking about the "TB3" we were talking about the Roland TB-3 he got me for Christmas. It's is a modern rendition of the famous Roland TB-303 which was used to create the "Acid House" sound of the late 80s and early 90s.
