Welcome to my Wrestlemania review series. I will be reviewing every single Wrestlemania leading up to Wrestlemania 33, including the Manias I’ve already done. Join me on this journey and take a look at the history of the grandest stage of them all. Today, we look at the fourth installment to the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania IV. This Wrestlemania centered around the 14 man single elimination tournament and the rise of the Macho Man Randy Savage. Come hear my thoughts on the show. Below are the results and ratings. Enjoy.

Winner: Bad News Brown. 
Rating: Okay (C-) It felt like a pre-show match. 

Round 1 Match:
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase 
Winner: Dibiase, with the assist from Andre.
Rating: Decent match, weak finish. (C+)

Round 1 Match:
Dino Bravo w/Frenchy Martin vs. Don Muraco w/Billy Graham
Winner: Don Muraco by DQ.
Rating: Sloppy, underwhelming match. (D+) 

Round 1 Match:
Greg “The Hammer” Valentine vs. Ricky The Dragon Steamboat.
Winner: Greg Valentine, using the tights.  
Rating: Good match!  (B)

Round 1 Match:
Butch “The Natural” Reed w/ Slick vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage 
Winner: Randy Savage. 
Rating: Average. (C)

Round 1 Match:
Bam Bam Bigelow vs. One Man Gang w/ Slick
Winner: One Man Gang wins by count-out.
Rating: Bad. (D) Dumb finish. 

Round 1 Match:
Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Ravishing Rick Rude
Winner: DRAW. They go to the 15-minute time limit. 
Rating: Boring (D+)  

Non-Tournament Match:
The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hercules w/Bobby Heenan
Winner: Warrior. 
Rating: Disappointing! (D+)

Quarterfinals:
Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant III
Winner: No contest. Double Disqualification after both used a steel chair.
Rating: Okay. (C-) Not as good as their Wrestlemania III match.

Quarterfinal Round: 
Ted Dibiase vs. Don Muraco w/Superstar Billy Graham
Winner: Ted Dibiase.
Rating: Average. (C)

Quarterfinal Round:
Greg “The Hammer” Valentine vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Winner: Randy Savage. 
Rating: Solid! (B-) One of the better matches of the night.

WWF Intercontinental Championship
Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake vs. Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart 
Winner: Brutus Beefcake wins by DQ. 
Rating: Okay. (C-) The most entertaining part was watching Beefcake cut Hart’s hair.  

Six-Man Tag:
British Bulldogs & Koko B Ware vs. The Islanders & Bobby Heenan
Winner: Islanders and Heenan. 
Rating: Boring. (D)

Semi-Finals:
One Man Gang w/ Slick vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Winner: Randy Savage wins by DQ.
Rating: Okay. (C-) 

WWE Tag Team Championship:
Strike Force aka Tito Satana & Rick Martel © vs. Demolition aka Ax & Smash w/Mr. Fuji
Winner: NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Demolition. 
Rating: Okay. (C-) 

Finals:
WWF World Heavyweight Championship
Ted Dibiase vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Winner: NEW WWF World Heavyweight Champion! Macho Man Randy Savage 
Rating: Good!! (B)

Overall show grade: Average show (C). Nothing noteworthy or worth watching more than once, but you managed to sit through the entire show entertained for the most part. Average matches, some good, some not so good. Storylines make little to no progression and booking at points are questionable. If you watch it, you’ll be entertained by it. However, you most likely won’t remember it as time goes by. A simple blueprint, by the books, show.
