Ideas are easy to think of but often challenging to execute. However, after learning about the dismal child hunger rates in Oregon, Anton Cobb came up with an idea that he felt was too important to not act on. Now, every Wednesday he sits alone at a table near a popular lunch spot with a sign letting people know he's skipping lunch so that 30 children won't have to and asking others to join him. The outstanding results made Anton realize that the secret to making a successful idea come to life is to involve the entire community.

Anton Cobb is a Chicago native who moved to Portland in 2013 and has never looked back. He lives in Northwest Portland and works downtown as a Sales Manager, just around the corner from Director Park where hOURLUNCH began. Each Wednesday, Anton skips lunch and sits in Director Park with a sign that says “I am skipping lunch. So that 30 children won’t. Will you join me?” He gives the donations he collects to the Oregon Food Bank to combat child hunger.
