While taking a walk in the woods on our Southern Illinois farmstead I found a place on top of a ridge, just inside one of my deer sanctuary areas that I could place a stand in a large oak tree. I also had an epiphany that I could cut a new road to open up a shooting land for the new stand, and at the same time open up a shooting land for one of the old rickety shoot houses that I moved on the property. Join me as I outline my strategy and make it happen with the Bobcat E42 mini excavator. The shoot house overlooks a great fall food plot mix, and now I'll have another 60 yards of shooting land for the next Illinois deer shotgun season!
