Pope Benedict XVI made no direct mention of the sex abuse scandal engulfing the Roman Catholic Church in his latest public appearance at a special mass in St Peter's Square on Palm Sunday, but he did warn against being intimidated by gossip. As the Church observes Holy Week commemorating the last days in the life of Jesus Christ, it faces a growing crisis over the scandal and questions over Pope Benedict's leadership.
