The council of common interests approved the project. In 2011, foundation stone was laid by Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Prime Minister of Pakistan in PPP regime. In the Nawaz Sharif Govt., no progress towards construction of Diamir Bhasha Dam was recorded. Now the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar have collectively announced the fund raising for Diamir Bhasha Dam and reiterated to construct the dam by own resources. #DiaMirBhashaDam #BhashaDam #DamFundCollection
