Craig Campbell has been a professional artist for the past 40 years specializing in hot glass. Craig's degrees in art /art education prepared him for a career creating and teaching art in community education and the Minnesota college system. Numerous artist-in-residence positions together with museum and art center board membership experience have given Craig a unique perspective on the creative process, its confusing definition, and misunderstood origins. Craig is developing a course on creativity to demystify and reveal the principles of creativity and how this process can enhance our lives. In this talk, he discusses where creativity comes from, how we discourage it, and what we can do to nurture creativity in ourselves and others. In his TEDxMahtomedi presentation, Craig explores the nature of creativity, how it develops, and how we can nurture it throughout our lives. About TEDx, x = independently organized event. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
