Despite the fact that the of Dura-Ace 9100 and Ultegra 8600 shifters look almost the same however, they are differ in shape and dimensions as it turned out, quite significantly. However, it's possible to install Dura-Ace 9100 hood covers on Ultegra 8600 shifters. And, although the result can't be called ideal, this difference in size doesn't make steering uncomfortable and bother at all.
