Rothberg, MD, PhD is Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes (MEND) and Director of the MEND Investigational Weight Management Clinic. For her undergraduate degree and post-baccalaureate training, Dr. Rothberg attended Smith College in Massachusetts and American University in Washington, D.C. Her M.D. degree is from Wayne State University Medical School, where she received academic honors that included the Upjohn Award for Excellence in Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr. Rothberg served both her internship and residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. She then completed the fellowship program in the MEND Division at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor and joined the MEND staff afterward. Since 1999, Dr. Rothberg has served as a physician at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2009. She has been a staff physician at Chelsea Hospital since 2009. Dr. Rothberg holds, or is a Co-Investigator, on research grants from the Michigan Nutrition Obesity Research Center, the Robert C and Veronica Atkins Foundation, the Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center, and the National Institutes of Health.
