Top 5 Nostalgic/Outdated OSRS Money Makers Hey everyone, in this top 5 video, I list off what I think to be are the most nostalgic and outdated money making methods in old school runescape. I hope you enjoy. :) ~Script~ Hey everyone, and welcome to the top 5 most nostalgic and outdated money makers in Oldschool RuneScape. A lot of these methods are lost in time and rarely seen being done anymore due to monster drops bringing raw materials into the game or just simply being outdated by another update. In this video, I will go over my most nostalgic money makers that no longer bring in a hefty profit. Number 5: Mining pure essence. Believe it or not, there used to be a time when pure essence was not too easy to come by, and the fastest way to obtain it was mine it. This method has been outdated by monsters such as zulrah and the twisted banshees, which drop this item in bulk. The was a time in RuneScape where Pure essence sold for upwards to 100 gp each, making it a viable method for low to mid level players to gain some money. Unfortunately, there is a huge influx of pure essence and it is likely this method will be lost in time forever. Number 4; Fishing Sharks Sharks are no longer one of the best food in RuneScape. Even though many other foods healed more, such as the tuna potato and the Manta ray, sharks where by far the easiest to come by to generate a profit. With the introduction to anglerfish and dark crabs, there are way more foods to take the place of sharks. Minnow fishing was the biggest blow to sharks, as the traditional way to fish sharks became obsolete if you had 82 fishing. This crashed the price of sharks, killing off an iconic money maker. Number 3: Wooductting yews/Magics in the Gnome Stronghold. If you played Runescape in 2007 or even in the beginning of Old School Runescape, you either were a woodcutter yourself or knew people who had. The gnome stronghold was by far the best place to cut yews and magics as the trees were extremely close to the bank. Many monsters drop logs now, such as the giant mole and King black dragon to name a few. With the introduction to the Woodcutting guild, the Gnome Stronghold became completely obsolete, along with several other woodcutting locations. Number 2: Picking and spinning flax. Spinning flax in general is still an okay way of making money for some starter cash, but I am referring to the actual process of both picking and spinning flax in seers village. This was hands down one of the most popular ways for new members to gain really quick cash to buy some essential starter gear. This is personally how I gained enough money to buy my first dragon weapons. At the making of this video, flax is 2gp because it is a heavily dropped items rom monsters, zulrah being one of them. Since it is much easier to buy flax really cheap and spin in in lumbridge, this is an outdated method and the spinner in seers will probably forever be abandoned. Number 1: Killing the kalphite queen If anyone remembers what old runescape was really like, then you know the dragon chain is one of the most iconic items in the game. It was once a very expensive, rare piece of armor heavily sought after by most runescape players. The kalphite queen is still killed today, but not for monetary gain, usually for a slayer task or to achieve the kalphite head for diaries. New players today will never know what it was like grinding out the KQ with a friend for hours on end hoping you would get the 12 to 15M dragon chainbody.
