Thirty-seven people will face charges in the fraternity hazing death of Baruch College freshman Michael Deng, 19, allegedly killed during a “glass ceiling” hazing ritual at a weekend in the Poconos. Police say on December 8, 2013, Pi Delta Psi fraternity members forced Deng to carry a backpack full of 30 lbs. of sand and run through a gauntlet wearing a blindfold, while fraternity brothers lined up on two sides and attacked him, beat him and pushed him.
