A popular Waldo bar is looking ahead after it was damaged by a big fire earlier this year. Fred Dreiling is co-owner of Kennedy's Bar and Grill, which burned to the ground Feb. 16, like just about everything on the block. "When they say that the Lord closes a door, he opens a window. That's our window," Dreiling said. KMBC's Kris Ketz reported that Dreiling's window is a new building at 75th and Washington streets that is scheduled to be ready next spring. A ceremony was held Thursday to mark the comeback. Kennedy's opened in a temporary space last month, with plans to occupy the first floor of the new building.
