ITANAGAR, May 26: The  38-Booth Level Committee  Volleyball Team lifted the Khelo Itanagar Volleyball Trophy  defeating BLC-64 in a thrilling final match in men’s category played here today at Chintan Ghar, Jullang, whereas in Women’s category BLC- 20 Volleyball team trashed BLC-18 Volleyball team.

BLC-39, Tarajuli and BLC- 33 Ganga Village have been adjudged as discipline team of the tournament for both women’s and men category. Besides that Khoda Yaka has been conferred best women player and Nabam Tadi in Men’s category.

Congratulating the winners, Chief Patron Khelo Itanagar cum Vice President Tame Phassang opined that the mega Volleyball event held successfully were more than 1100 players from 91 team competed each other for the top position. ‘Winning or losing in a part of game but what more important is their enthusiasm to participate and playing the game in all weather condition in last four days’ stated Phassang .

While responding to the query by media person, Chief Patron further added that the success of first edition of Khelo Itanagar that held from May 23 to 26 was grand success and so if time permit we will definetly organized such sport event in large scale in near future.

When asked about the motive behind the Khelo ItanagarPhassang said – Khelo Itanagar is been organized in the same line of Khelo India focusing the youths of the state to give them platform and also to keep them fit & Healthy.

Earlier, President- Bhartiya Janata Party (state) Tapir Gaon, State General Secretary Lelong Lingfa ,Chairman Sports Authority  of Arunachal Bamang Tago   gave away the prizes and trophy to the winners and other awardees.
