CINCINNATI (Perry Schaible) -- Want to get together a game of football in the park? Maybe you'd like to find a running partner or set up a tennis match. Now, you can find pairings for more than 30 sports and activities on your phone. 'Physi' is a new activity app developed right here in the Tri-State by Matt Vorst and Craig Herget. The free app is available on both ios and Android platforms. It allows fitness minded individuals of all ages to connect with partners or players for sporting activities ranging from biking to billiards to golf and kayaking. There's even dog walking. Users can search in real time or schedule a future event. Developers say response from the public has been positive. It's easy to use. You load the app, create a profile, choose your favorite sports, and then start to search. Chief Marketing Officer Craig Herget said, "You have in your profile that you like to play touch football, or football, how many players you want to play with, then start to search. And, then start to assemble your team." CEO Matt Vorst said, "Lets say you're not confident enough to just go out there and find the best tennis player in the world, you can find someone at your level and get active." So far, the app has 700 users, but Vorst and Herget want to get more. Their goal is 10,000 by the end of November. On Friday, they'll host a launch party at Rheingeist. They'll buy the first beer for everyone who has the app. The launch party is open to the public. It runs from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Follow Perry Schaible on Twitter @Local12Perry and LIKE her on Facebook.
