The Nuzlocke Challenge rules I am using are as follows:

1.) Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released.
2.) The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. If the first encounter in the area is a Double Battle in dark grass, the player may choose which of the two Pokémon they would like to catch.
3.) The player must nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
4.) Species Clause: The first encounter catch rule does not apply to Pokemon of a species the player has already caught.
5.) Shiny Clause: Any Shiny Pokemon encountered may be caught, regardless of the first encounter catch rule.
6.) Legendary/Special Pokemon Clause: The first encounter catch rule does not apply to Pokemon that do not appear randomly (for example, Snorlax in Generation I, Sudowoodo in Generation II, etc).
