The incident took place near forest area of Kushal Nagar. Sa Ra Mahesh paid his first visit to Madikeri after becoming the district's in charge. The minister noticed the deer which was writhing in pain. The minister got out of the car and even gave water to the injured animal which was later rushefd to hospital for treatment.
