In our video we touch on some of the main areas regarding the raw food diet and reflect on what we were doing back 6 years ago in 2009 to what we are currently doing now in 2015. We cover the following areas: • Calories: Do We Still Eat As Many Calories When We First Started? There are a number of different ideas about how many calories you should be eating to be healthy with some even advocating a minimum target of 2500 a day for women and 3000 a day for men, others will advise that you simply eat until you feel satiated, while another idea is to purposely limit your calories to increase your longevity and achieve weight loss. • Greens: Do We Eat A Lot Of Them? Eating enough greens is very important when transitioning to a low fat raw is very important for a number of reasons, including getting enough minerals in your diet like sodium and mineralizing your body. Yet there are many people who eat only a relatively small amount of greens and who have been on an all raw or high raw diet for many years. • 100% Raw Or High Raw Many people don’t do 100% raw and instead prefer to eat high raw, including some cooked food in their diets. There are many raw foodists that stay 100% raw as they say that eating cooked foods does not allow them to feel and be at their best. • Hydration There is advice out there that stipulates that you need to drink a certain amount of water every day to stay properly hydrated, yet what if you are eating a very water rich diet from sweet juicy fruits for example? Do you still need to still drink lots of water or not and how much is actually enough? • Simplicity Eating a low fat raw food diet or high raw diet can be done very simply or made to be more complex regarding how many ingredients you have in your meals. For instance a banana smoothie with water is a mono meal of one fruit and very simple to make when compared to say a cooked dinner meal that contains many different ingredients, including perhaps some sauces or spices. • Fat: Do We Still Eat A 10% Per Day Fat Diet? You will find many people having varying amounts of fat in their low fat raw or low fat high raw diet. Some like to keep their fat content at a minimum (around 5% of their total daily calories) while others for example will have from 6% to 10% on average, or even go as high as 20% fat.
