The Licensing Office in Arima will be relocated to the Ministry of Works and Transport compound in about 18 months’ time, as the Ministry cannot use the building they paid over $20 million for in 2013. During a visit to the site, Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan says although the building was declared unsuitable for use, the Ministry went ahead and purchase the old hardware. The file on this matter has been sent to the Attorney General. Minister Sinanan says the current location of the Licensing Office is not up to standard and they cannot have inspections at the office. He says with the relocation they will be able to have more services done there, instead of directing people to Caroni branch.
