West China: Day 49-56 – Putting Miles Behind

We make the big moves this time around. We travel back into China making it our 3rd and final excursion to the country. In order to catch certain trains, and giving us more time in Europe, we haul our buts across the Chinese landscape and into Kazakstan. We take a 24 hour bus to Kunming, China, a sleeper train to Xian, China, and another 3 day train to the Western city of Urumqi, China. There we had some time to enjoy the very unique mix of Middle East and China. We made an awful move because of China's rule to have a single time zone that follows Beijing. It hurt us, but we dealt with it and got on another 24 hour (and very grueling) bus out of China and to Kazakstan.
