California Senate Bill 320 will force universities to pay for chemical abortions and push abortion pills on students. A chemical abortion requires the student to take two pills. The first pill, RU-486, blocks nutrients to the baby. This would be taken in a campus health center. A day or two later she takes the second pill, Misoprostol, which causes cramping, diarrhea, vomiting, and heavy bleeding to expel the baby from her uterus. For a girl in college, this would happen in her bathroom or her dorm room. Keep in mind, college bathrooms are shared. So are the dorm rooms. Chemical abortions are not risk free. Women may need corrective surgery and even life-saving medical procedures. California university officials have expressed concern that they are not equipped to deal with the risks or complications of chemical abortion.
