The spotlight recording for the April 2018 issue of NEW ON NAXOS is the final release from our critically-acclaimed Camille Saint-Saëns Concertos series, presenting Piano Concertos Nos. 4 and 5, ‘Egyptian’, performed by pianist Romain Descharmes with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Marc Soustrot. The first two volumes of the series  each received a MusicWeb International ‘Recording of the Month’ award, and Piano Concerto No. 3, which is featured in the second volume, was also an ICMA nominee.

Other highlights include: the world premiere recording of Leopold Koželuch’s Cantata for the Coronation of Leopold II, ‘Hail to the Monarch’, conducted by Marek Štilec; Brasil Guitar Duo’s world premiere recordings of two concertos for guitar duo and orchestra by Leo Brouwer and Paulo Bellinati with the Delaware Symphony and David Amado; volume two of the Percy Grainger Complete Music for Wind Band series recorded by the Royal Norwegian Navy Band and Bjarte Engeset; pianist Alessandro Marangoni’s latest installment to the complete Péchés de vieillesse by Gioachino Rossini; a special 4-disc box set of Julian Lloyd Webber’s complete recordings on Naxos, and many more.
