This song is apparently a variation of The Oyster Girl, but I have never heard that song other than by reference. Its an old song with many variations from many countries. All of them recognizing the fact that pretty young girls can get men in trouble with a bat of their eyes and a swivel of their hips. Men - will we ever learn? This is a fun song to sing, and I sound pretty good when you are drunk. I first heard this by the Clancy Brothers, but Ronnie Drew and the Dubliners do it too (along with many others).
