Philadelphia Zoo Hammerkop Guarding Food

This video was recorded late in the evening on a day when the Zoo stayed open late, so it is a little dark. But I love observing animal behavior, particularly when more than one species is involved. In this case, the hammerkop is trying to keep the smaller birds away from the food and water dish, and especially focusing on the Egyptian plover, who usually only walks around those dishes even when the hammerkop isn't there! At the end of the video, you can see the hammerkop showing its pecking order to this much smaller bird.
