Keet was working on his salmon grabs during a Dine With Shamu interaction and this is the final approximation to the behavior! With a trainer to help him with a target pole, he first did a thrash alien, then the behavior with a smaller fish, and finally with a salmon! It was endearing how he brought the salmon back but I believe the orcas are free to eat it after finishing the behavior (or potentially choosing not to, there's a bit of an honor system with the salmon grab)! Keet (Killer Whale) at SeaWorld San Diego on 6/22/14. Do not use without permission.
