Raising children as a single parent is exhausting—mentally, emotionally, physically. Statistics are both sad and scary on children raised in a single-parent home. If it truly takes a village to raise a child, what can the you do as part of the that village to help? You’ll be surprised that the answer is unexpectedly simple yet incredibly impactful. A graduate of North Central University with a degree in mass communications and theatre, Jenn uses her passion for writing, speaking, and storytelling to encourage single parents, moms, and faith communities. While she only brings out her signature Irish Brogue accent on St. Patrick’s Day, Jenn’s voice is regularly heard on local radio where she’s been a DJ for over a decade. When she isn’t writing, running kids to activities, or brewing that next cup of tea, Jenn enjoys community theatre and blogging, and looks forward to launching her podcast in summer 2018. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
