Our tour in Israel today starts at Yad Vashem and begins to connect more of Israels' more recent history to its present, modern day history. After a very difficult tour of the Yad Vashem memorial museum, we toured Israel's Supreme Court and Knesset, which is their parliament building. It was fascinating to see how Israel's values of equality and human dignity are reflected not only in their defense force, which we saw yesterday, but in their government and justice system, too. The say that during their darkest times no one came to their rescue. They know how that feels and they never want anyone else to feel that way, so they are willing to defend and serve justice for anyone, regardless of background, religion or ethnicity.
