Was The Cure's "Lovesong" inspired by King's "These Things”?

When listening to music, I love to discover similarities between songs. While revisiting one of my favorite bands from high school, King, I was struck by how much their song “These Things” sounded like The Cure’s “Lovesong”. Both songs are in the same key and even have the same tempo! King released their song 4 years before The Cure. I wonder if Robert Smith ever heard the King song and maybe subconsciously evoked it while writing Lovesong. We’ll probably never know...
