Maybe it was because we were coming from Japan or maybe we just weren't expecting the culture shock but after our stopovers in China, we're not in a rush to go back. Our series of flights were booked with Sichuan Airlines and it actually wasn't as bad as some of the reviews made it out to be. From Tokyo we flew to Chengdu and had to wait overnight for our connection to Zhengzhou. In total took us 36 hours to get home...the things we do to save $1000 on a flight! While searching for flights from Tokyo to Vancouver, the options on our dates of travel were so awful. Either we forked up $1400 EACH for a direct flight to Canada or we could save our money and opt for 36 hours of travel with two connections in China. Which would you have chosen?
