Missouri and Northern Arkansas mixed freight heading east. The locomotive pair went by earlier in the morning going the other direction and I missed the chance to video them. But, all is good, as I was about to leave, they came back by. The tunnel motor was smoking almost like a steamer. For all you Rio Grande fans out there, like me, it's awesome seeing an old unit like this, it was formerly D&RGW #5392. This was a bit of an odd one even when it was on the Rio Grande. Note the "box" on the nose where the headlights once were. If I recall, it was the only DRGW unit to have that. If not, please correct me.

Now the second unit, an FEC GP40-2 is an oddity up here in Missouri. I don't think I've ever seen a Florida East Coast unit around here. I did spot this unit this past Sunday at UP's Neff Yard as we passed by on I-435 headed to a train show, but we didn't have time to get back in there for a better look. Nice treat to see it's still up here and getting the chance to film it. I just had to stay in my car, it was starting to rain. Two straight weeks of cloudy, cold overcast weather is wearing thin.
