As a young girl, you are TEN times more likely to not complete your education. Kano is working with 'Theirworld' to rewrite the role of African girls and women, through empowering them to learn to code. We can change and tackle the idea that girls can't do, can't achieve in their world. Some of the young children, want to go into amazing careers. Every girl should have the same opportunity, to have the future they choose. Through the Kano Coding Club scheme, we want to empower these future coders, journalists, and game-changers. Teaching them about technology and coding is just the start. Create, not just consume, technology. Kano was born from the challenge of 6-year-old Micah 'I want to make a computer but it needs to be as easy and fun as Lego, so nobody has to teach me'. 4 years later Kano is present in more than 1000 schools and educational programs, with more than 150.000 kits distributed to 80+ countries around the globe.
