Is Theresa May Really Lining Up To Pay The EU a £50 Billion Brexit Bill? According to reports, Theresa May’s Tory government is prepared for the UK to gift the EU with a £50 billion sweetener as part of any Brexit deal. -------------------------------- *SUBSCRIBE* to Jeff Taylor Here: https://goo.gl/NyzUPo -------------------------------- An insider to the Brexit negotiations, has told the Times newspaper that Theresa May is planning on paying the EU between £7 billion and £17 billion a year for three years after Brexit. Although Downing Street has firmly denied this report, someone from the inner circle seems to be flying a kite so as to start debate and get the people used to the idea of some sort of huge annual payment. -------------------------------- How to *SUPERCHARGE* your YouTube videos: http://bit.ly/2vbl9z2 -------------------------------- This has come about mainly because of May’s weakened position after her disastrous attempt to cement her grip on power via this year’s general election. Didn’t go too well though, did it? The insider told The Times: “We were looking at a final bill of £20bn to £30bn, now it will be nearer £50bn.” Reportedly, Theresa May had been advised to keep this firmly under wraps until after the Conservative Part conference in Manchester ends on the 4th October, in order to keep her party ship on an even keel. So, who’s spilling the beans now and why? But, with rumours that up to a dozen or so of her own MPs are planning to vote against key parts of the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill - better known as the ‘Great Repeal Bill’, she needs to somehow bridge the gap between the Leavers and Remainers in her party, let alone the rest of parliament. The Leavers will want to see a Brexit that completely severs the links between the UK and the EU, as well as its court the ECJ, on Brexit Day. The Remainers are desperate for as lengthy a transition period as they can get that keeps the UK under the jurisdiction, however limited, of the EU and ECJ. As this will give them a smooth route to re-entry into full EU membership at a later date. And a £50 billion three year transition period may be an attempt at bridging that gap. But hard-line Brexiteers will not be happy about this as they see any move of this sort as manoeuvring to try and keep the UK in the EU. Remainers will of course be cock-a-hoop and see it as a major victory in their ongoing pro-EU campaign. MPs start debating the Great Repeal Bill later this week and how they vote at the end will tell us all we need to know about Parliament’s true intentions with regard to Brexit. Those MPs that do end up voting against the Great Repeal Bill will claim they are not trying to go against the referendum vote, they will say that there is something wrong with the bill itself - but be in no doubt their intention is to defeat the bill and keep the UK in the European Union! We need to be prepared to name and shame! Another point to bear in mind is that, if the House of Commons ends up watering down the Great Repeal Bill, the House of Lords will not only be emboldened to follow suit, it will be actively encouraged to try and further diminish it. As far as I am concerned, all this sort of talk is doing, is fostering increased uncertainty and costing the UK billions that it can ill afford. The blame for this must be laid squarely at the door of the Remain camp. What do you think, please leave a comment below. Thank you.
