With many improvements to cooling and other items, Dewalt has been able to make grinders that last longer and are a bit safer to use than the previous generations. The DWE4222N has two features that help to protect the user from unintended danger. First, this unit has a braking feature that helps to slow the wheel when the trigger is released. This helps to avoid unintentional contact with other objects once the grinder has been turned off. Second, The DWE4222N has an E-clutch that will activate in a tenth of a second to stop the wheel when the tool senses a stall or a bind. This feature will help to avoid kickback or possible cutting wheel breakage. Important features when the grinder has the wheel spinning at 11,000 rpm.
